Wine Tags: A Photo Tutorial

Merry Christmas (Eve)!  I'm over at the Lawnscaping blog today sharing a photo tutorial for some no-sew felt wine tags.  These tags would make a great last minute hostess gift if anyone still has any holiday parties to attend!  For this project, I used the coordinating dies for A Birdy Told Me (the small circle speech bubble and the star).

I actually came up with this idea last year and made several sets of wine tags using different dies.  You can check out that post here.

I hope you'll go check it out!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  For those who are celebrating, Merry Christmas!

Hawaiian Christmas Card + VIDEO!

Mele Kalikimaka!  Today I'm sharing a quick (-ish) and simple Christmas card.  I wanted to include a card in some of the holiday packages that I'm sending to family and needed it to be simple enough to make multiples of.  So here's what I came up with:

I used a super cute stamp set by Dandelion Designs called Hawaiian Christmas.  I stamped the palm tree and sentiment (translation: Merry Christmas {&} Happy New Year) and used my copic markers to color the images in.  I then used the Stitched Journaling Card die by Lawn Fawn to cut everything out and mounted it on some Neenah desert storm cardstock. A little red baker's twine finished off this simple card.

I also made a video for this card, so I hope you'll check it out:

If you enjoyed it, I hope you'll subscribe to my Youtube channel!  There's a link over on the sidebar of my blog if you watched the video from here ----->

And since I added some sparkle (Wink of Stella clear glitter) to the details on the card, I'm going to link this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Bling it on

Thanks for stopping by!

Lawnscaping Challenge #72: Color Inspiration

It's the last Lawnscaping Challenge of the year!  Can you believe it?  Our yearend challenge will be a color inspiration:

I love those icy, wintery colors!  But, truth be told, I always struggle with color challenges.  I can never seem to find the right shade of color, but I did my best and here's what I came up with:

I used Lawn Fawn's Cozy Christmas stamp set and the stitched journaling die for this card.  After I stamped the sentiment and stockings, I colored the stocking with copic markers and tied some silver sparkle lawn trimmings around the journaling card.  I then mounted it on some navy cardstock as a frame.  The card base is stamped with the Hero Art's envelop pattern for a little extra texture.  I also added some sequins and Wink of Stella glitter pen because it can't be a Christmas card without sparkle ;)

And one last photo:

I hope you'll join us for this in the fun!  Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn, who will be giving away a stamp set to the winner!

Elise's Baby Blog Hop!

Hi!  Welcome to Elise's Baby Blog Hop!

You should be here by way of Tracy...

Today the Lawnscaping girls are celebrating Elise's little bundle of joy, Claire Rebekah!  Elise is one of the sweetest bloggers out there and we couldn't be more thrilled for this new mama!

Here is the card I made:

I started by finding some wallpaper looking patterned paper and adhering it to the card base.  I then made a little dresser using the wood grain patterned paper from the Into the Woods Paper Pack.  I did a little sponging with distress ink around the patterned paper to give the dresser a little more dimension.  After I finished that, I used the sweet images from Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum, colored them with copics, fussy cut them, and adhered them to the card.  I then made the little hanging picture with a scallop square punch and a square die.  The sentiment is from PTI.

So there you have it!

Your next stop on the hop is Sabine.

And should you get lost along the way, you can always go back and start over at Laurel's blog.

Congratulations Elise!!

A Foxy Hello

Well, I thought I would make just one more card for Lawn Fawn's CHA 2014 Catalog Challenge.  There are just a few more hours to join in the fun...so I'll keep this post short!

I used Lawn Fawn's Into the Woods stamp set (fox and sentiment), Critters in the Forest (log), and some Pink Lemonade Lawn Trimmings.  I started by making my background by watercoloring with Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade distress inks and then laying some vellum over to mute the color.  I then stamped and colored the images with copic markers and cut them out.  The sentiment is inked in two colors of ink using the rock and roll technique.  After wrapping some twine around the card, I adhered everything to the top panel and was done!  A pretty simple card for me!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Good luck to everyone who has entered-- there are so many awesome cards submitted that I'm sure it will be a tough decision!

Follow with Bloglovin

So I'm a little behind the proverbial eight ball in regards to transferring my blog reading list.  I originally had set up a Feedly account, and like it very much, but I also thought I'd set up a Bloglovin account.  So, now you can follow this blog with bloglovin should that be your reader of choice.

There's also a little button on the sidebar of this blog.

Thanks!

Lawnscaping Challenge #71: Tags or Treat Bags

**If you're looking for the post regarding my video tutorial over at the Lawn Fawn blog today, scroll down or click here**

It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  This week's theme is to make tags or treat bags.

I decided to make a tag:

I started by die cutting two of the largest Puffy Star Stackable stars (as a front and back).  I then used my distress inks to create a background on the front star (iced spruce and evergreen bough for the top and frayed burlap and vintage photo for the bottom).  To add a little texture to the background, I spritzed it with a little water and stamped the star from the Critters Ever After set.  I then stamped, colored, and fussy cut the dragon (also from Critters Ever After).  I also added a little Wink of Stella to all the yellow parts:

To ground him (her?), I stamped the grass from Critters on the Savanna and used a brown copic marker to delineate the ground.  Finally, I stamped my sentiment and added some gold sparkle Lawn Trimmings as a tie to the tag.

I hope you'll join in the fun!  Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp, who will be giving away a $25 gift card to the lucky winner!

Creating a Moonlit Background + a VIDEO!

I am so beyond thrilled to be sharing a video tutorial over on the Lawn Fawn blog today.  I'll be sharing how to make this card that was featured as part of Day 5 of Lawn Fawn's Very Fawny Holiday Week:

You may notice that the moon is larger in this card than it was in the original card-- I'm a dumb-dumb and didn't realize I had die cut a larger circle until after this new card was complete!  Oh well-- I actually kind of like the larger moon anyways.

Here's a link to the Lawn Fawn channel where the video can be viewed:

This is my first video and it's always a little strange to hear your own voice and see your own hands in a video.  I hope you enjoy it though.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on it and perhaps I will start making videos a regular thing here.

Thank you for stopping by :)
