Happy Weekend!
I wanted to stop by and share a new card today. I'll have to keep it short though-- you see, Audie has an affinity for Apple cables and bit my computer charger so it no longer works...ugh. I'm running on a low battery and Best Buy is closed-- double ugh!
Today's card is for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge: Be My Valentine.
Here's my take on a Lawn Fawn Valentine's:
I have to say, I'm happy with how this card turned out, but it just about drove me nutty today! I only had half an idea in my head when I started and nothing seemed to turn out right. I pitched the original idea and this is what I came up with. For this card, I used a few Lawn Fawn sets: Critters in the 'Burbs, Bee Mine, Smitty's ABC's, and Interlocking Backdrops. The background is inked up with white pigment and stamped with one of the backdrop stamps. It wasn't as bright as I wanted, so I added white embossing powder over and that seemed to do the trick. I also flicked some Mister Huey's opaque white spray to add a little interest to the background. I love that stuff! After I die cut some hearts from white cardstock, I used squeezed orange and bubble gum pink dylusions ink spray to create a fun, vivid color for the hearts. Here's a close up so you can see the color a bit better:
I then die cut some arrows (Lifestyle crafts) from colored cardstock and embossed my sentiment in black and white.
Lastly, I added the little squirrel, who is on the hunt for some nuts! Who needs chocolate anyways?
I'm also going to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Have a Heart.
Thanks so much for visiting today! Hope to see you again soon!
