"Carp-e" Diem!

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone's week is going well!  It's been so cold recently that I've been thinking more than usual of the beach--thus the inspiration for today's card!  This week's Lawnscaping Challenge is to "Stamp a Scene," so I thought I'd channel those thoughts into my own little piece of paradise.

Here's my take:

This card was a lot of fun to make!  I started by inking the background panel with distress inks to create a gradient of color.  I then stamped my "spatter" Impression Obsession cover-a-card stamp with water onto the inked panel.  Since the distress inks react with water, the stamp creates a neat pattern on the panel.  I thought it looked a bit like bubbles.  It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but do you see the little dots?

After I finished the panel, I cut a sandy hill out of kraft cardstock and also inked that with the "spatter" stamp, although I used VersaMark this time to create a tone-on-tone look.  I then die cut the Twiggy Tree from Memory Box since I thought it could pass for some coral.

I then stamped and colored many of the images from Lawn Fawn's Critter's in the Sea and positioned them in throughout the panel.  Lastly, I stamped my sentiment with Smitty's ABC's (Lawn Fawn).  While my scene may have taken a few artistic liberties (...carp may actually be freshwater fish...), I thought my sentiment was too good to pass up!  What a fun and encouraging way to tell someone to "sea-ize the day"! ....eh, eh? ...alright, alright... I'll stop ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a good rest of the week!
